Other lipid species with a pro-inflammatory role, such as platelet activating factors (PAFs) [94] or specific glycosphingolipids related to IL-1beta/IL-18 production, auto-antibody production and recruitment of peripheral immune cells within the CNS [95], were detected in our study, suggesting that additional workflows are needed to elucidate the full picture of inflammation-related CSF lipidome involved in PD. The gene discussed is IL18; the disease is Parkinson disease.
