As a target of predominantly the neovasculature in cancer, endoglin would be most suited to both (i) serve as a diagnostic and disease monitoring imaging target, to improve current measures of MVD and improve existing diagnostic imaging techniques, (ii) and to function in image-guided surgery, with a potential future to assist surgeons in resecting tumors based on imaging of tumor stroma and neovessels. Here, ENG is linked to neoplasm.
