While it remains to be determined whether miR‐33‐mediated silencing of OSBPL6 affects cholesterol efflux to HDL‐C levels in vivo, OSBPL6 mRNA levels positively correlate with ApoA1 and HDL‐C levels in humans and OSBPL6 levels are decreased in the carotid arteries of patients with atherosclerosis (Ouimet et al,2016a). Here, OSBPL6 is linked to atherosclerosis.
