As SH2B3 was reported to inhibit STAT1 signaling in melanoma (Bao et al., 2006b), to our surprise, the result showed that STAT1 may be the transcription factor that binds to the promoter of SH2B3 and STAT1 is dramatically highly expressed in GBM and promotes GBM cell proliferation and migration as well as GSCs’ self-renewal (Hua et al., 2019; Zhao et al., 2020). The gene discussed is STAT1; the disease is glioblastoma.
