CD4 and COVID-19: In contrast to previous reports in adults where the majority of severe COVID-19 cases (6, 33) were recorded with absolute numbers of total T lymphocytes, CD4+ T cells, and CD8+ T cells below the normal limit, we demonstrated that the percentage of CD4+ T cells, and CD8+ T cells were reduced below the normal limit in 29 and 38% of cases with mild/moderate and severe COVID-19 cases, respectively.
