In this study, expression of Gal-8 was evaluated by immunohistochemistry technique in 18 and 16 cases of normal epithelium, 24 and 10 cases of low-grade dysplasia, and 22 and 15 cases of high-grade dysplasia around the tumor, and 74 and 37 cases of hypopharyngeal and laryngeal cancer respectively. This evidence concerns the gene LGALS8 and laryngeal carcinoma.
