The result of our meta-analysis indicated that omega-3 FAs supplementation significantly increase GPx (SMD: 0.50; 95% CI: 0.14, 0.86; I2 = 00.0%) (Fig. 4a), and SOD activities (SMD: 0.58; 95% CI: 0.27, 0.90; I2 = 00.0%) (Fig. 4b), and also significantly decrease MDA levels (SMD: -0.91; 95% CI: − 1.29, − 0.54; I2 = 00.0%) (Fig. 4c) in CKD patients. Here, SOD1 is linked to chronic kidney disease.
