Inhibition of BACH1 expression markedly repressed the expression of VEGFC in ESCC cells both in vitro and in vivo, attenuated the density of CD31+ blood vessels, and reduced angiogenesis in tumor xenografts in agreement with the results of the previous study that demonstrated that BACH1 significantly promotes tumor growth and angiogenesis in colorectal cancer.10 This evidence concerns the gene VEGFC and esophageal squamous cell carcinoma.
