In agreement with a transcriptional function of STAT3 in cytoskeleton regulation in T-cell lymphomas, we recently reported that in the context of ALK-ALCL, STAT3 controls the expression of a novel long coding RNA (lncRNA) called BlackMamba. BlackMamba is a chromatin-enriched lncRNA that controls the expression of several cytoskeleton-related targets including Ras Homolog Family Member U (RhoU), RhoA and PAK2 through the transcriptional regulation of DNA helicase HELLS and its recruitment to regulatory regions of cytoskeleton genes (Figure 4). Here, STAT3 is linked to anaplastic large cell lymphoma.
