While defects in the IFN-γ pathway in tumors correlate with resistance to ICIs (Gao et al., 2016), higher expression of IFN-γ-related genes were found in patients who responded to anti-PD-1 therapy in some types of cancer (Ayers et al., 2017), including NSCLC. This evidence concerns the gene IFNG and non-small cell lung carcinoma.
