TNF and Dysphagia: Table 3 displays that higher levels of swallow activity and functional performance and better nutritional status appeared protective for signs of dysphagia with ORs ranging from 0.81–0.98 at baseline and 4-week follow-up, and from 0.56–0.96 at 56-week follow-up. Signs of dysphagia was not related to comorbidity burden or plasma levels for the four inflammatory biomarkers, except for TNF-α levels at 56-week follow-up, which were significantly higher in patients with signs of dysphagia than in patients without (p = 0.039) (Table 2).
