Summarizing considerations on the concept of Fang and colleagues, it can be stated that the results of the studies published so far indicate that there is no scientific basis to replace ACE inhibitors or AT1R blockers with other drugs during the treatment of hypertension during the COVID-19 pandemic, because of fear of a higher risk of SARS-CoV-2 infection and a life-threatening course of the disease. This evidence concerns the gene ACE and hypertensive disorder.
