EGFR and non-small cell lung carcinoma: In NSCLC, it is estimated that activating mutations of epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) occur in 10% to 20% of Caucasian and at least 50% of Asian cases, with the most common EGFR mutations including deletion in exon 19 (19 Del) or point mutation in exon 21 (L858R).
