ABCA4 and age-related macular degeneration: Variations in the fibulin gene family were demonstrated to be related with AMD, genetic variants in the Stargardt Disease Gene (ATP-Binding Cassette transporter A4 (ABCA4)) were more commonly found in AMD cases than in controls, and linkage studies suggested that chromosome 1q25-32, which harbors the factor H gene, was associated with AMD [34,35,36].
