Interestingly, nearly all IFN-γR−/− chimeras lacking IFN-γ-receptor expression on hematopoietic cells were able to prevent the growth of SCC (Figure 8A), suggesting that while IFN-γ produced by hematopoietic cells is important for tumour control, IFN-γ-signalling to hematopoietic cells is not. This evidence concerns the gene IFNG and neoplasm.
