Of note, it is recently reported that IFN-β appeared to be pivotal to ameliorate the disease progression in a combined therapy regiment of IFN-β, lopinavir–ritonavir, and ribavirin at the early stage of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) [39,40]; therefore, TAP1 might be a potent inhibitor against SARS-CoV-2 infection. This evidence concerns the gene IFNB1 and COVID-19.
