TAS2R38 and chronic rhinosinusitis: TAS2R38 SNPs dictate individual differences in PTC/PROP tasting [44,87,88], food linking patterns [82,89] and also in TAS2R38‒mediated pathophysiology [46], such as susceptibility, severity, and prognosis of upper respiratory infection, rhinosinusitis and biofilm formation in chronic rhinosinusitis patients [90,91,92,93,94,95,96,97], development of colonic neoplasm [98,99,100], taste disorders [101], and neurodegenerative diseases [102].
