ACE and type 2 diabetes mellitus: Of the 154 patients, 33 (21.4%) presented a diagnosis of T2DM at enrolment, while 62 (40.3%) suffered from high BP, and 47 (30.7%) were taking angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors or angiotensin II receptor blockers (ARBs) as an antihypertensive therapy.
