The worst survival rate, observed when both p66shc and SerpinB3 were high, was associated with the concomitant presence of high levels of β-catenin and low expression of TGF-β1 (Figure 2A,D), two molecules involved in HCC prognosis [20], but only lower β-catenin levels were associated with better survival (Figure 2B,D). The gene discussed is SERPINB3; the disease is hepatocellular carcinoma.
