TET1 was identified as a fusion partner of the mixed-lineage leukemia (MLL) gene from the breakpoint of chromosomal translocation in acute myeloid leukemia (AML) [82], and loss of TET2 is strongly associated with myelodysplastic syndromes, myeloproliferative neoplasms, and myeloid leukemias [83]. The gene discussed is TET2; the disease is acute myeloid leukemia.
