IFNB1 and viral infectious disease: Unsurprisingly, FFluc and GFP expression were higher in cells infected with ΔNS1 mCherry than in cells infected with WT mCherry (Figure 4B,C, respectively), where viral NS1 was able to inhibit IFNβ promoter activation [11,32,37,38,69], indicating that ΔNS1 mCherry was not able to control IFNβ promoter activation during viral infection.
