Animal models showed how the methylation at the promoter regions of other imprinting genes, such as insulin-like growth factor 2 receptors (Igf2r) and paternally expressed gene 3 (Peg3) may influence pubertal abnormalities, ovarian disease, testis dysfunction, and obesity in adulthood, due to DEHP and DBP [36,37,38]. This evidence concerns the gene IGF2R and obesity due to melanocortin 4 receptor deficiency.
