Statistical analysis of the obtained results revealed significantly decreased mean serum levels of caspase-3, caspase-8, and caspase-9 in women with ovarian cancer compared to the control group (p ˂ 0.001), which indicates the involvement of the studied parameters in immune system disturbances occurring in the process of apoptosis by extrinsic and intrinsic pathways in patients with ovarian cancer. This evidence concerns the gene CASP9 and ovarian carcinoma.
