Anakinra is currently being tested in different phase-2 clinical trials (NCT04150913, NCT04205838, NCT04359784, NCT04432506) for the prevention of CRS and neurotoxicity in multiple B cell malignancies treated with either CD19- or BCMA-targeting CAR T cells, as well as in prostate cancer treated with prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA)-targeting CAR T cells. The gene discussed is CD19; the disease is congenital rubella syndrome.
