We found a trend towards an increase in the TNFR1+ classical monocyte cell population [Ctl: 1.87% (1.21–2.52) and IS: 2.54% (2.07–4.27), U = 51.5, p = 0.07] in ischemic stroke patients compared to controls, whereas the TNFR1+ intermediate cell population showed a trend towards a decrease [Ctl: 1.35% (0.44–2.52) and IS: 0.49% (0.13–1.04), U = 52, p = 0.07] (Figure 3f). The gene discussed is TNFRSF1A; the disease is ischemic stroke.
