Using an in vivo model of benzo (a) pyrene (B[a]P)-induced lung cancer tumorigenesis, Bodduluru et al. (2016) showed that Naringenin reduces cytokines such as TNF-α, IL-6, and IL-1β while also reducing protein levels of NF-κB, showing a chemopreventive role of Naringenin against chemically induced lung cancer in mice [65]. Here, IL6 is linked to lung cancer.
