Therefore, the aim of the present study was to investigate the development of metastatic melanoma nodules in the lung following intravenous injection of Snail-transfected B16F1 cells in lumican deficient and wild type C57BL/6J mice as well as to analyze the effect of lumican on Mock and Snail overexpressing B16F1 cells in vivo and in vitro focusing on invadopodia formation and the associated signaling pathways. The gene discussed is SNAI1; the disease is melanoma.
