Higher WT1 expression levels were documented in intermediate-2/high-risk MDS patients (mean ± SD, 3107 ± 4397 copies; range, 8–16,364 copies) compared to low-/intermediate-1 risk subjects (mean ± SD, 398.3 ± 770.6 copies; range, 0.4–2119 copies); however, no statistically significant variations were registered (p = 0.1266) likely because of the small number of patients in our MDS cohort. The gene discussed is WT1; the disease is myelodysplastic syndrome.
