CPB1 and ductal breast carcinoma in situ: CPB1 is responsible for an increase in the inflammatory process by modulating the expression of proinflammatory molecules by the activation of MAPK-p38 pathway via complement system [30], which may explain its higher expression in DCIS/perimenopausal women at the time of mastectomy (high expression of CPB1 was observed among younger women, so as those diagnosed with a DCIS).
