Analysis of clinicopathological factors revealed that promoter hypermethylation of CDKL2 is significantly higher in women (48.0%) than in men (37.7%) (p = 0.037), suggesting that CDKL2 promoter hypermethylation may be a contributing factor to the sex disparity in HCC. The gene discussed is CDKL2; the disease is hepatocellular carcinoma.
