Hypermethylation of the CDKN2A (Cyclin dependent kinase inhibitor 2A, encoding p16INK4A and p14ARF), CCND2 (Cyclin D2, controlling G1/S progression), and CDKN2B (encoding p15INK4B) promoters is associated with the development of HCC (Figure 4) [45,46,47,48]. The gene discussed is CCND2; the disease is hepatocellular carcinoma.
