A recent comprehensive review on ABCA7 focusing on AD-related human genomics, transcriptomics, and methylomics concluded that human-based -omics studies give a converging proof of (partial) ABCA7 loss as a pathological mechanism in AD and indicated that future studies should make it clear if ABCA7 can be utilized as a therapeutic target for AD [132].
