Contrastingly, a later study conducted by Bang-Berthelsen et al. [35] utilizing a different IBD mode, injection of BALB/C CD4+ T cells into SCID mice, showed that treatment with the long-acting GLP-1 agonist liraglutide (0.6 mg/kg) ameliorated colitis by significantly improving colon weight to length ratios, lowering the histopathological score and reducing pro-inflammatory cytokine levels (Table 1). This evidence concerns the gene GLP1R and inflammatory bowel disease.
