TAZ and YAP have emerged as central oncoproteins (Harvey et al., 2013) in many different cancers including breast (Chan et al., 2008; Zhao et al., 2012), colorectal (Wang et al., 2013), liver (Zender et al., 2006), lung (Xie et al., 2012), pancreas (Zhang et al., 2014), thyroid (de Cristofaro et al., 2011), and sarcomas (Fullenkamp et al., 2016; Merritt et al., 2018; Isfort et al., 2019; Eisinger-Mathason et al., 2015; Crose et al., 2014). The gene discussed is WWTR1; the disease is sarcoma.
