In conclusion, overall, these results supported the existence of a relationship between a dysregulated expression of IFN‐α, IFN‐β, and ISG56 and the onset of atherosclerosis in long‐term‐treated HIV‐1‐infected men, suggesting that measurement of IFN‐I pathways might help for identifying those individuals who are at higher risk for CVD.
