Cells in non-tumour tissue were non stained for the EMT markers vimentin and β-catenin (Fig. 3a,b) while MENA was found in a small proportion of cells in non-tumour tissue, and within the tumour tissue approximately 50% of cells were positive for vimentin and β-catenin, and had patchy staining for MENA.
