On the other hand, the low number of patients positive for IgA isotype antibody in our study contradicts reports that describe an abundance of IgA isotype antibodies directed against the SARS-CoV-2 S protein in COVID-19 patients; reports which showed IgA had higher titers than IgM or even IgG isotype antibodies15,16.
