MAEL has different molecular mechanisms in different tumor types in which it activates the AKT/GSK-3b/SNAIL signaling in HCC [26], inhibits the E-cadherin in CRC [16], inhibits the MTSS1 in bladder cancer [27], and inhibits ILKAP tumor suppressor in GC [42].
