To date, GPC-3 is the most well-documented GPC gene in its family in different cancers, including HCC, ovarian clear cell carcinoma, melanoma, squamous cell carcinoma of the lung, hepatoblastoma, nephroblastoma (Wilms tumor), yolk sac tumor, and some pediatric cancers [36]. The gene discussed is GYPC; the disease is hepatocellular carcinoma.
