CRP and susceptibility to pneumonia measurement: Compared to those without disease progression, patients with disease progression were older (52.5 vs. 33 years, p < 0.001), had a higher median BMI (26.3 vs. 22.9 kg/m2, p < 0.01), presence of underlying disease (66.7 vs. 21.3%, p < 0.001), pneumonia since first admission (55.6 vs. 10.1%, p < 0.001), lower baseline lymphocyte count (1071 vs. 1690/mm3, p < 0.001), higher baseline CRP (61.2 vs. 3.8 mg/L, p < 0.001), lower albumin (3.8 vs. 4.3 g/dL, p < 0.001), and higher globulin (3.8 vs. 3.1 g/dL, p < 0.001).
