Recently, Vaczy and co-workers have revealed that intraperitoneal injection of lipopolysaccharide (LPS) led to a markedly more severe eye inflammation in PACAP KO mice with a decrease in anti-apoptotic protein kinase B (pAkt) level and a more expressed elevation of sICAM-1, JE, TIMP-1 cytokines than in wild-type mice (Vaczy et al. 2018). Here, AKT1 is linked to eye inflammation.
