CAV1 and rheumatoid arthritis: Among the 12 loci we find CHI3L1 (hypomethylated in r=9%) which is a rheumatoid arthritis autoantigen [63], SNW1 (hypomethylated in r=7%) which is a nuclear factor kappa B (NF) regulatory gene involved in RA pathogenesis [64] and CAV1 (hypermethylated in r=9%) which is involved in NF-kappa-B activation in a T-cell receptor/CD3-dependent manner [65].
