Utilizing the abundant clinical data in our center, we retrospectively identified risk factors associated with severe CAP or ICU admission among children hospitalized with CAP, which included rural residency, premature birth, low birth weight, patients with health issues, formula feeding, preexisted congenital heart disease, history of pneumonia, wheezing, cyanosis, abnormal chest X-ray, abnormal WBC, hypoalbuminemia, elevated CRP, proteinuria, and RSV infection. This evidence concerns the gene CRP and pneumonia.
