LRP5, CPED1, BMP2, PPP6R3 and WNT4 had at least five novel potential ALM-associated SNPs, proteins produced by them all exhibited direct or indirect interactions with proteins produced by genes corresponding to other potential ALM-associated SNPs, such as WNT16, TNFSF11 and RUNX2. This suggests that these genes operate in a coordinated fashion in their functioning and significance for ALM. Here, WNT16 is linked to acral lentiginous melanoma.
