Although a large proportion of BMAL1 peaks were overlapping, a number of peaks were specific to non-obese OAPs (1124), while others were unique to obese ones (513), indicating that obesity caused a genome-wide relocalization of BMAL1 binding (Fig. 5G, details in Supplementary Fig. 4C). This evidence concerns the gene BMAL1 and obesity due to melanocortin 4 receptor deficiency.
