IL5 and asthma: The levels of IL-4 (91 ± 4 vs. 90 ± 6 pg/mL, p < 0.05), IL-5 (78 ± 5 vs. 77 ± 1 pg/mL, p < 0.05), and IL-13 (145 ± 4 vs. 148 ± 6 pg/mL, p < 0.05) were increased in the asthma animals on days 31 and 51 compared with those seen in the healthy animals: IL-4 (44 ± 2 vs. 45 ± 1 pg/mL, p < 0.05), IL-5 (37 ± 3 vs. 38 ± 1 pg/mL, p < 0.05), and IL-13 (64 ± 5 vs. 66 ± 3 pg/mL, p < 0.05) (Figure 3).
