Progress related to BH3 mimetics targeting BCL-2 and BCL-xL has been made [45], such as ABT-737, which binds BCL-2, BCL-xL, and BCL-W [46]; ABT-263 (navitoclax), which binds BCL-2, BCL-xL [47], and venetoclax (ABT-199), which selectively binds BCL-2 [48] and has been approved by the FDA for chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) treatment. This evidence concerns the gene BCL2 and B-cell chronic lymphocytic leukemia.
