Motif discovery identified the TEA domain family members (TEAD) as enriched within the accessible regions of the conserved (8–10 patients) gained enhancers (Supplementary Data 5), suggesting a role for these factors and their transcriptional coactivators YAP/TAZ, as putative regulators of the conserved CRC enhancerome. The gene discussed is WWTR1; the disease is colorectal carcinoma.
