In recent years, the quinazoline/quinazolinone ring scaffold has increasingly gained interest as a privileged structure in a variety of marketed drugs and broad varieties of biologically active compounds, such as anti-microbial, anti-cancer, neuroprotective, and also anti-AD agents, exhibiting inhibition of Aβ aggregation, butyrylcholinesterase (BuChE), and dual acetylcholinesterase (AChE), and have essential scavenging effects (Figure 2) [13,14,15,16,17,18].
