Recent studies revealed that the frequency of AR-negative neuroendocrine prostate cancer (NEPC) and AR-Null and Neuroendocrine-Null Prostate Cancer (Double-Negative PCa, DNPC) is elevated due to the application of potent AR antagonists such as enzalutamide (ENZ) and abiraterone (Aparicio et al., 2011; Hu et al., 2015; Bluemn et al., 2017; Labrecque et al., 2019). The gene discussed is AR; the disease is prostate cancer.
