Growth arrest-specific 5 (GAS5) is a lncRNA firstly identified in growth-arrested mammalian cells (Schneider et al., 1988), and overexpression of GAS5 could induce cell apoptosis and cell cycle arrest in PCa cells (Pickard et al., 2013; Luo et al., 2017; Sun et al., 2017). This evidence concerns the gene GAS5 and posterior cortical atrophy.
