Since the main aim of this study was (i) to confirm chamber-selective expression of SK channels and (ii) to comment on the therapeutic potential of these channels in pharmacological treatment of AF, we have analyzed the expression levels of three SK channels encoded by KCNN1, KCNN2, and KCNN3 in our set of human cardiac tissue samples (Figure 6). The gene discussed is KCNN1; the disease is atrial fibrillation.
